August 22, 2014 – As part of the symposium 1ER ENCUENTRO DE ARCHIVISTAS AUDIOVISUALES DE OAXACA (1st Meeting of Audiovisual Archivists of Oaxaca), Mona Jimenez and Walter Forsberg organized a CAW with the community media center Ojo de Agua Comunicación. The symposium was organized by Oaxaca Cine, an organization that supports the production, distribution, exhibition, and preservation of film and media in Oaxaca, Mexico. Attendees at the Encuentro and members/allies of Ojo de Agua Comunicación took part in the workshop and cataloged 128 videotapes.
Following the workshop, Hector García, Paola Morales Vázquez and Isabel Rojas created the 1er MANUAL PARA LA CATALOGACIÓN DE LA COLECCIÓN DE CENTRO DE VIDEO INDIGENA PRESENTE EN OJO DE AGUA COMUNICACION, a manual for cataloging using the template developed for the CAW. Since that time, the manual has been utilized and adapted to support cataloging for numerous projects of Audiovisual Preservation Exchange (APEX).
